Movers and Inspection update

Howdy,

I’ve been researching and speaking with moving companies this week. There is one thing of which I’m certain. The “Top 5” type of websites must get kick-backs. One in particular was interesting. If I used Google search with the name of a mover, and reviews, whatever mover I seem to use, was listed in their top 5. And, when I would switch to a different mover in the search, it would be too, and the prior one might not be anymore.

Also, from what I can see, every mover has great ratings by “consumer” organizations, and lousy reviews by consumers. And, many of the moving companies have intertwined corporations. Just because you see one name on the website, the mover that contacts you may have another.

It is truly luck in who gets the long straw, and who finds the needle in their butt.

So, I’ve got three coming over to do estimates in the next 3 days. My present “solution” is to pick the one that seems like they have the best way of getting my 7-foot long Tricycle transported safely. Hopefully they will also take care with my other possessions too.

On the inspection front… I just got word from the agent in Ohio that the inspection up there went great. I am to receive my copy of the report by tomorrow. Also, they are getting the dimensions I need to get new appliances for the kitchen.

Things are moving forward, and I am still looking for a 3/3 closing down here, and a 3/10 closing up there. And traveling that direction in between.
