Day -68 -- Sunday again - gave/gained some "life" this week.

Another fairly boring work week. Heard some rumors about end-dates that I, personally, don’t like. Even though others might like it, I’m hoping the rumors are wrong.

The second Pune FTE is now going through those KT (Knowledge Transfer) videos I made. The first FTE is to answer questions, if he can. So far, neither are asking me for clarifications.

Seems like the Office will have some interesting work, needed by my soon to be former, group in the coming year. Glad I won’t be doing it….

Friday I did something useful. I donated blood again. This time they asked if they could do the “double red” donation. Hadn’t known that was a thing. Seems my JRQ O Negative blood is also CMV negative. In this case, a double negative, is a definite positive to them. Being O- and missing that CMV stuff is what allows them to use my blood for baby bags. They can dump my blood into anyone.

However, I doubt I’ll do the “double red” process again. While the extra time, for them to cycle my blood into a machine and have it keep the red, and push the plasma and platelets back up my arm, wasn’t too bad. The agony of not being able to move my arm, even after my thumb and fingers starting going numb (the arm rest obviously was pinching a nerve), made me a very anxious individual.

Then again, since I won’t be at the Office for donation days in six weeks, it likely won’t come up.

On the gaining life side of the spectrum, I was invited to attend a Court of Honor ceremony to present a friend’s son with their Eagle Scout badge. It was quite the ritual. My friend did a fantastic job putting together the event. Lots of moving pieces to it. And a very nice reception afterwards. You can watch the video I did of the ceremony. Be aware, it is 40 minutes long, and since I was there as a guest, I tried to stay seated and just used my iPhone on a gimbal https://amzn.to/2MaGwIq (for stabilization), Since the internal mic on the iPhone isn’t all that powerful, you’ll need to play with the sound, and need to ignore the non-wanted sounds. Wish I had used my M50 and the external Rode mic…

It was a very enjoyable afternoon. Almost — on the way there, and less than 2 miles to the park, I got off the Florida turnpike and was stopped by the Po-Po… They were blocking off every intersection for miles, and had the road closed going one direction. Shoot, I was expecting to see a presidential motorcade go by. Instead, after waiting for 10 minutes as more and more Patrol officers on motorcycles, and in cars, fly past all of us waiting to use the road, I saw this:

I was halted on the road for almost 20 minutes. The first 10 as the Police set up road blocks to prevent any other traffic from moving, and then the next 10 of motorcycles. I finally pulled out the camera to pick up the last 1 minute.

I’d guess the total number of motorcycles/trikes/etc. that went by was over 300. They just kept coming.

Ah, I’m on-call this weekend. And, the last batch jobs for the day just finished successfully. Yippee!!!!

Here’s hoping for a good week for me, and all of you too.

Enjoy Life.
