03-01-2025 -- Procrastination is my enemy

Howdy all. Around midnight, it was 54 degrees outside. That is max temperature for yesterday, and today. By the time I got out of bed it was 25. Now at 1 pm it is at 21. Low teens coming overnight into Sunday morning. And a little snow of course.

I got a notification from myself, that I should have ordered seed potatoes and plant seeds for starting, already this year. The potatoes should be in the ground in just over 2 weeks. Not bloody likely this year. The ground is frozen right now.

Not much snow, but certainly not ready to grow anything either.

This was 2 days ago when it was in 40s and rain was getting rid of snow piles.

Anyway, I’m not sure what will be in my outdoor gardening plans this year. Not looking good.

But, the “warmer” weather has brought visitors to the yard. I’ve seen one of the bunnies, an opossum, and a couple of the outdoor cats. This one was a new one.

Looks fairly health, but I couldn’t see a collar. Hopefully it has a home nearby.

Well, I put it off long enough. Today’s blog is about my procrastinating on getting my 3D printer room organized, and getting to a print I’ve created the files for, but just haven’t done. The print will need to use 6 different shades of green filament rolls at the same time, and white for background, and dark blue for border and words.

To do that, I need to have two AMS units on the same machine, which I have done. But I also want it to work the first time, so I need to upgrade the printer with some various tools and accessories that I’ve already printed out.

And, because one of them is a venting riser that goes on top of the printer, there isn’t enough clearance to have an AMS unit sitting on top too. Thus, I got a riser stand to go over the one AMS unit that can have the second above. Great, but it doesn’t fit on the existing workbench. Okay, I bought a “coffee table” that can hold 300 plus pounds, and is only half as tall as the workbench. Now I could even have a 3rd AMS unit on the printer, sitting on top of it. And, with the printer lower, I can reach into it from the top and replace a couple other parts I’ve printed out.

All this sounds good, right? Well here is what it looks like in the printer room right now.

The printer on the left with half of the green riser on top, and the two AMS units barely not falling off the side of the workbench.

Can’t even get to the computer’s keyboard because of the mess.

There are the 6 green colored filaments, falling from top of this drawer set.

Those are pieces for the riser.

More pieces and parts for the risers and the light strip connectors that go in the risers.

There are the light kits to go inside the risers, and some yellow bed plate holders that will hang from the side of the risers, and tool trays for the other side of the risers. And so much more. Oh, notice the AMS stand on the left, that is precariously off the edge of the workbench, sitting on a piece of plywood jammed under it. Oh my..

I’m hoping the guilt of seeing this entry will make me get up there and do the job. Until I do, it won’t be very easy to Enjoy Life
