03-02-2025 -- 3D printer upgrades, phase 1

Howdy all. Another chilly morning/day here. Temperatures will stay in 20-25 range until they drop overnight. Lovely. But not snowing. I read more snow come Thursday (today is Sunday). But in between, we may see 50? Yeah, right.

I did start on the 3D printer accessories this morning. Assembled a riser / top glass slider, with LED strips, for each of them. The first assembly was a fight. And I couldn’t figure out what some of the clips were for. Turns out, they will hold the riser to the printer. That won’t be done until the rearranging of tables and cleanup in the room. But, here is a picture of the riser for the Bambu Carbon X1.

Notice the LED strip comes with a remote control to allow switching to all kinds of RGB lighting. I’ll be using just the white, and at a brighter setting than it is right now. Too bright, and I can’t get a picture.

The green “stems” off the back of the riser will prevent the glass top from being able to slide out. Oh, the riser is upside down in this picture. Obviously the lights are meant to illuminate the inside of the printer, not the ceiling!.

The other one is green and blue pieces for the riser and LED strip holder. That is for the “cheaper” Bambu P1S printer.

Anyway, the assembly was done under the watchful eyes of my supervisor.

I do the work, she demands the treats as a reward. Fair enough.

So, the transformation of the printer room has begun. Not sure I’ll do much more today though. I’m very tired the last couple of days. I did order seed potatoes - Red, Purple, Blue, Yukon Gold, etc. today. Even if I can’t put them in the ground on March 17th, maybe the week after, or, first of April? Also ordered onion sets for same planting time — sweet yellow, red, white.

Then I ordered sweet pepper seeds and cucumber seeds. While the cucumbers will only be green, I picked California Wonder sweet peppers in orange, yellow, green, red and chocolate. I love to see so many colors.

Now if the weather would just cooperate. This super long cold disgusting winter is getting to me. I need some warmth and sunshine so I can Enjoy Life.
