Progress in progress

Howdy,

Making progress at making progress. Home Depot came back on Wednesday and hooked up water to fridge. I now have ice in my cup of Mountain Dew (diet). But, they skrewed the pooch again when it came to the Dishwasher. This time they complained they couldn’t do the install because the 12 foot inlet hose, they demanded I get (and hand to exchange to a different dishwasher to get one) runs behind the cabinets and therefore, since they can’t test that the new hose isn’t leaking, would not install it.

I sent the new one back with them and called and complained. After 3 more hours on the phone, they will be delivering it again on Saturday, but, this time I’ll have a “real” plumber install it on Monday. Ugh, I can’t believe it is that difficult to get a dishwasher installed.

Other progress is happening around the house. I have all of the shelving I need, and nothing is sitting on any floor in any room (well maybe the garage!!).. It is almost at the point where I’ll do a walk-thru with pictures — maybe in a week. I am still waiting for the delivery of the couch.

Computers are all hooked up, and updated. Although, the desks are a mess. The real thing now is to start organizing all of the “hidden” messes.

Oh, I even lit up my gel-fuel fireplace this week. It was nice to see a fire and sit in the reading room (living room) — it may be the most complete room.

I guess I should mention how the COVID-19 lock downs and shortages are affecting me. Well, I guess it is a good thing I’m a bit of a loner anyway. I don’t need the face-to-face contact most desire. Although today is housekeeping day and two young ladies are running through this place wiping down, sweeping, mopping, etc. I will continue to have them do this every other week to keep the place up.

Shopping is the biggest annoyance. Some of the groceries now have “Senior” hours a couple times during the week. But, even then the shelves are quite limited and the restrictions are plenty. I end up making multiple trips to multiple stores on multiple days to get what should be gotten in a 1 trip to 1 store on 1 day. I don’t think this is working for “social distancing’ as I seem to be around more people than required.

But, hey, I’m not unemployed because of COVID-19.— I did that myself!! I feel for all those being laid off because of it. Hopefully it won’t last as long as being predicted. I have confidence that a treatment (perhaps the plasma of the cured) will be become the quick fix while waiting for the trials to finish for the vaccines.

And, I want to be able to get out and start doing some things. For that I need the lock down to end, and the warmer weather to begin. Let the progress, progress.

For now, it may be difficult, but

Enjoy Life
