1 Week Retireversary
Howdy,
I’ve been retired for 1 whole week as of today. My final paycheck earned, was deposited today. But I can’t log on to their payroll site to see what was the gross amount and what was deducted. It seems like they included the remaining PTO (Paid Time Off). The documents prior suggested that would be there for another 2 weeks. Oh well, I’ll get a W2 someday, and the deductions for the 401K will show up in the account next week.
I’m continuing to de-clutter the house for the upcoming posting for sale.
I am quickly running out of room in the 5 x 10 storage unit. That freezer, up front, must weigh around 100 pounds. Getting it into the truck bed was a painful experience.
I keep overdoing the packing and loading, and then telling myself to take a day or two break. For example, last night I woke up around midnight and my right leg and knee were so sore and so stiff, I could not bend them to get out of bed.
But because it wasn’t hurting so much in the morning, I just started working on more packing and moving. Both legs are hurting a lot again now.
Yet, I still need to bubble wrap some stuff from the dining room area. I’ll fill a couple more bins from there, and one more from kitchen. Then I will need to store the remaining packing materials.
The next step is cleaning time. — I’ll be doing some, and I want to hire in a local cleaning service to do a better job. But first, I have my handyman / painters / lawn team, coming next week to make some areas look less bad by caulking / painting some cracks between baseboards and floors in a couple of places (master bathroom, that flooded once), and around the island in the kitchen (never looked good). After they’ve done their thing next week, I’ll get a cleaner from www.nextdoor.com ..
Another item on the list, is the security camera guy will be here on 1/7 to replace the dead cameras. Want to make sure a new owner feels secure.
I’m getting towards the starting line for the sale of the house. And once that race begins, I need to work harder on the race to buy the next place.
Wish me luck!!
Enjoy Life.
