03-24-2025 -- A job well started is
Howdy all. A job well started is, half completed. Yeah, right. For me, a job started is surely not going to be completed soon. I have perfected procrastinating. The organization of the toy rooms (laser room/3D printer room) just keeps on moving slowly.
I started a little more in the laser room. A couple of weeks back I was looking for a sheet of white painted wood, and one painted blue. Couldn’t find either, so ordered both. When they arrived, I found the others. So, I made a “plan” to organize the pre-painted materials by color/size. Even ordered new shelf organizers. Over the last two mornings, I managed to do a tiny amount of the job.
Colors of the rainbow for sure. If White and brown and black were added. I gathered all of these pieces.
At this point, I noticed about 3-4 more packages of multi-colored boards piled elsewhere. Thus, they need to be opened, and these sections spread much further apart, and the new added. Not fair. If I had noticed I would be needing to insert another 4 pieces of yellow in the section, I would have made it wider. Same with the rest of the colors. Notice how much white is over there on the left. I have more than plenty now.
Anyhow, I ordered more slot inserts, so I can add more sections. They’ll arrive tomorrow. And I’ll get right back on this, like next week (month?)..
I did make a pasta sauce yesterday using some of the tomatoes I dehydrated last fall. Dang those things are tasty.
Couldn’t quite figure out how much water to use in my pasta sauce. I used a jar of Prego as a starter and tossed in maybe a couple very full cups of dehydrated tomatoes and then a jar of water. Within a couple minutes of cooking, it was way too thick. I tossed in like another jar of water and then the meats and frozen onions and peppers. The sauces was still thick after they started cooking down. Added another cup of water. The dehydrated tomatoes finally started to become much more soft at that point. But man were they flavorful and sweet.
The dehydrated cherry sized tomatoes are especially sweet and have a fantastic tart bite to them.
Oh, I tried some of those dried Shiitake Mushrooms in my omelette this morning. Yesterday evening, I just tossed a half cup of warm water and a handful of those mushrooms, in my omelette container, and then the standard sausage, tomatoes, fried onions, and liquid egg whites and shredded cheese on top. It sat in the fridge overnight and hit the microwave this morning. With the extra water in there, I ran it for 1555 (fifteen minutes and 55 seconds — I just guess). The omelette was a little more moist than normal, but good. The mushrooms? Well, they were from too soft, to great, to a bit chewy. Guess I should re hydrate them prior to use. But this will work.
I got a teeny bit of something done today. I planted 3 types of pepper seeds and cucumber seeds in “Grow” trays. These will hopefully grow enough to be transplanted outside in about 6 weeks. Like May sometime.
Grow lights should give the plants a boost when they germinate. And the covers should help keep the soil nice and moist.
Oh, did you notice I haven’t written about the weather? Yeah, that’s because it continues to blow. And be cold, damp and gloomy. Will winter ever end? And will I soon be able to get outside to Enjoy Life ?
