03-27-2025 -- Spring Cleanup Time
Howdy all. Weaver’s Lawn Service was here this morning. Spring Cleanup time. They removed all the leaves and twigs and branches that gathered in the yard since last fall. They also, trimmed a few plants (roses/flowers/shrubs). But the big task today was removing the shrubbery that was near the deck out back. I wrote near, because last fall it was touching the deck, but with the huge snowfall in early winter (60 + inches in a day), the poor shrubs got bent over, their root balls exposed, and basically were not coming back. There was a 2-3 foot gap between them and the deck now.
One pulled out, and a second being chopped free. Notice how much room he has to work. You couldn’t squeeze a piece of paper between the bushes and the deck last fall.
They were massive bushes.
Prior to removal
After removal but prior to rake out. They’ll come back with new “ball” shrubs and mulch.
Filled their truck rapidly. Dump run costs about $75.
BTW, this was yesterday. Fairly surprised they came today at all.
The weather today was pretty nice for a day starting in the 20s. But the winds were low, and the sun was strong. Actually felt pretty nice out there when the temps started climbing through the 40s.
Yesterday I did finish up the first shelf in the laser room with all of the colored wood pieces. Very colorful.
Turns out, there were still 3 more packs of 7-11 pieces that I found after this. I just left them unopened and put them on the end of the shelf above.
Started on the shelf above. It will be colored acrylic pieces which will likely work well with the soon to be here, K40 OMTech CO2 laser. But it can only handle 8x12 inch pieces. I have some bigger ones I may still use on my XTool S1 40Watt Diode laser. We will see.
Where the shrubbery was. Notice not a leaf nor a twig to be seen.
Same with the rest of the back yard. Nice and neat to start the year.
Same with out front too
Even all the branches that fell from the neighbor's trees are gone.
It was a good spring cleanup and makes it easier to look outside and Enjoy Life.
