Day -3 -- Almost party time

Howdy all,

Not that I party, but the time to be done working is near. Each day this week, as I get out of bed, I find myself saying, and this will be the last Monday or Tuesday or whatever, that I’ll ever have to get up to work. It seems incredible. I’ve been emptying out my office for the last few weeks, and there is just a few things left to take home or give away. Looking more like an empty broom closet again.

Doing similar actions at home. Throwing out stuff that I don’t want to move, and giving away whatever someone else might use. Also doing minor fixes of things that I should have done 15 years ago. Fixing things like the master bedroom closet shelving that was loose from the wall. Now it has extra bracing and clips to hold it up. I think in this case, the fact that I now have all of my tools organized, and can get what I needed quickly, made it a 10 minute task instead of a 1/2 day ordeal. Also patching little holes in the walls, that nobody could see because there were pictures or furniture covering them. Since all of the wall stuff will be coming down and being packed soon, those would be visible.

Last night I took down the light-blocking curtains covering the glass block windows in the master bathroom. The street light shines through them. But, a prospective new owner wouldn’t want to see them, so they go, and I will just shut the door each night when I try to sleep. (And run into the closed door when I need to make the sleep-walking visit there around 2-3 am!!!!) I need to remove those light-blocking inner shades I have in the bedroom also, but am dreading that. I really prefer it to be super-dark for sleeping — any distraction is a major distraction for me.

I have a bunch of sterilite bins to take to the storage locker. I’m really liking them for moving. Bought dozens at this point — also used them when I organized the computer room / office / garage / etc., last year.

I’m at the Office right now — breakfast is cooked (I smell it), so I’ll stop typing, and start eating. And get back to work.
