Day -214 -- Oh, BTW, I have been dieting for awhile now

Yeah, big surprise. To nobody!! Anyhow, I got to be a huge number a few years ago, and after dropping a “quick” 150 pounds over the first year and a half, the weight loss stalled. I only gained about 5 - 10 pounds back in the next year.

So, the day after Christmas 2018, I started again. I decided to try the low-carb type of dieting. I had already substituted just about everything else away, so I needed to go another direction. I have been trying to incorporated the high-fat portion of the Keto plans, but it just doesn’t fit me. I don’t like all the greasy stuff.

Thus, I am minimizing carbs, and trying to keep the total consumption lower. I refuse to count either carbs or calories. That is not living..

I have found a variety of low to no, net carb foods that I’ve incorporated into my diet. Breads and pasta are some of my favorite foods. And I’ll take a good bagel over a chocolate cake any day.

Thus, I now use Thinslim Foods bread products for my sandwiches. https://amzn.to/2JXB4Yq They have a variety of breads/bagels with ZERO net carbs. So, for those Keto people, you can have multiple sandwiches with bread-cheese-meat-mustard (White Castle brand for me https://amzn.to/2WhKyo5 )-etc. and not use a carb at all.

Throw in a spinach-cuke-celery salad with one of the Walden Farms Calorie free dressings https://amzn.to/2JXB4Yq and you have a virtual carb-free lunch.

I’ve even found a very low carb Peanut Butter — yes, it does exist. And is pretty darn good too. Fix & Fogg https://amzn.to/2VQ29Ep — No, it isn’t cheap, but you should cut down on it anyway!!!

As I wrote above, another must in my life is “pasta”.. The reason for quotes around that word, is I found some substitutes. Calling them pasta may be stretching the truth a bit, but, it is as close as I can find.

There are a bunch of varieties of this Konjac / Shirataki Noodles, but I find this brand (Skinny Pasta) the least smelly and rubbery. https://amzn.to/2YCPFN5 For a flavored version, Miracle Noodle Spinach Shirataki Noodles, https://amzn.to/2HreEgx is not too bad either. Those, or just plain zucchini “noodles” will do. Tiny amount of carbs, and you can throw on enough cream-cheese-seasoning to pretend it was pasta.

And your question might be, “Is it working?”. Yes, it is. Nowhere near as quick as it does for young athletic people, but good enough for me. I am down about another 35 pounds over the 5 months.

Oh, as to just how much overall I’ve lost…
