Day -186 -- First Pineapple of the year.
Just a quick note or two.
I did get the mudflaps on the truck. Weathertech said 30 minutes. Not bloody likely. It took 30 minutes to get one bolt out. And, when it comes time to put the philips-headed bolts thru the rear flaps, you need the hands of a 5 year-old, with the finger grip of Arnold squeezing a pair of vice-grips.
I guess if you had the truck on a lift, you might be able to reach both the screwdriver and the lock-nut at the same time, but I don’t have a lift in my garage.
They are on. And by using a ratchet with a screwdriver bit, I was able to tighten them up enough I think they will stay.
They do look okay — nothing special — just plain black rubbery plastic mudflaps.
On the work front, after a 12, then a 13, then a 14, then a 17, hour set of days, we got things going forward. Over the weekend, my coworker finished up 4 days worth of data (about 6 - 8 pieces of files). (Thank goodness for him — I sure wasn’t ready to do more!!). But we are caught up — time for the business to find the minor issues and the other team will lead finding solutions.
As you might guess, that has kept me from doing much else. Once I get caught up on sleep, I’ll be fine.
Around the home, the best news is one of the pineapples have ripened.
Plenty more of them to come over the next month. I also took another bag of mangoes into the office. And will again next week. More yummy for someone’s tummy.
Oh, I put in for my vacation time to trip up north through Georgia and Ohio, looking at the areas I will make my choice of retirement housing. And, my brother from Oklahoma may try to get up to Ohio at the same time.
Imagine, all 3 brothers together for the first time in 25 years. Watch out north-east Ohio, the boys are going to be back in town!!!
That’s it for now.
