02-19-2025 -- Is Brrr over?
Howdy all. So Monday night the temperature got down to about 7. Last night (Tuesday into Wednesday) it got to 3 degrees. Right now, around 1 in the afternoon, all the way up to 17 degrees. Forecast is for 20 by Friday, and maybe even 35-40 by Monday. Sure would be nice. On the “bright” side, it is barely snowing, and the winds are below 10 mph for a change.
Yesterday, I went to get a button battery out of the desk drawer for a sensor, and was totally miffed on how long it took to find the right package in the pile of them. That plus the drawer is just stuffed with stuff. Time to print something useful on the printers… First, I started throwing out junk that no longer had use. Like the replacement batteries for the portable house phones that were tossed a couple years ago. And all kinds of crappy watch bands and covers for iPhones and Apple watches that I no longer have.
Next I tested any not packaged batteries. Dead ones hit the trash. Those past the use by dates also hit the can. And, 4 COVID 19 test kits that expired in 2022/2023. This is a total junk drawer for sure.
I found a couple nice boxes for holding batteries and started printing.
The little red box holds CR1632 batteries.
Ends up looking like this. Amazing that I seemed to have just the right number of replacement batteries to fill most of the boxes.
Now while those are nice, I don’t want to be chasing throughout the drawer looking for the boxes. So, I printed a box for the boxes, and the spare batteries floating in the drawer.
The Blue thing on the left side of the picture is the battery tester. Tests both buttons and AAA through D batteries + 9volt batteries too.
I’m now printing a slightly larger version of that green box (in red this time) to collect other small items in the drawer. Now if I could just get my act together enough to go upstairs and start using the organization gizmos I have printed previously. Maybe then, it would be easier to Enjoy Life.
