01-08-2025 -- Global Warming?

Howdy all, Yeah, I know it is Climate Change, not Global Warming. But right about now, I wish for a little warming! Temperature outside is 23, and that is today’s high. Down into the teens tonight. Since the last blog, another 3-4 inches of snow fell. I was out using snow blower yesterday around noon, when the sun peaked out for a bit. I miss sunshine.

Light flurries at the moment. Expect more snow before the weekend. Lovely, it isn’t. Just ordered more salt — actually not salt, but still ice melting crystals. I only use pet-safe stuff. Wouldn’t want to hurt the feral cats, or loose pets, or the skunks, possum, fox, deer, coons, coyotes, bear, squirrels, chipmunks, and other nighttime visitors of the yard.

I’ve been playing more with my 3D printers. Usually creating functional pieces. Things like 3D printer tools, and cases to hold the tools, AAA and AA battery holders, etc. Right now I have a print going that I hope will sit under the laptop I’m using and will get it to sit flat without wobbling. It upsets Kitty when she walks over the closed laptop, and it is unsteady. Hey, priorities exist in everyone’s life. Mine are just a little different.

Not much else happening around here. Tooth hole is healing, I’m watching a lot of tube. Kitty is sleeping and eating. Oh, my oyster mushrooms have been producing like mad. They are really good in my morning omelettes. The white button and crimini mushroom kits are starting to create a nice layer of whiteness on top of the mixture. They should be popping little shrooms soon.

The indoor tomato plants have dozes of blossoms. I keep spraying blossom set on them, but don’t see any fruit yet. I’m sure they will start soon too. Pepper pants are 6-8 inches tall now and may pop a blossom soon. The parsley and basil have had repeated harvests at this junction, and will keep on growing more.
